Influencer Compliance Guide

eToro is a reputable brand, providing traders and investors from around the world with a secure and regulated trading experience. We are committed to transparent, fair, and responsible marketing practices and uphold the integrity of the financial system. As an influencer, you play a crucial role in maintaining this trust. It is, therefore, paramount that every  campaign you create is fully aligned with the regulatory requirements and the guidelines of the jurisdiction in which you are promoting or targeting to promote eToro. This guide outlines the key compliance requirements for influencers promoting eToro in addition to the guidelines available here .

Initial Review of Content: Before publishing any content about eToro, you must submit your content or script for review to your Affiliate Manager. This process ensures that all promotional material is compliant with eToro’s policies/ guidelines and regulatory requirements before publication.

Promoting in Different Countries: eToro operates in over 100 countries worldwide. However,  regulatory restrictions apply to the  promotion of   eToro services  and certain products in specific regions. When promoting eToro, refrain from mentioning or targeting restricted countries, including using specific languages or currencies associated with these countries that could imply promotion in a restricted region. Additionally, avoid promoting products that are restricted in the country you are targeting. Detailed information can be found in our guidelines.

Promoting in the United States: In the United States, you must promote eToro using a US account, and only after your account and content have been approved by the US compliance team. Follow the US-specific guidelines to create compliant content. Note that global accounts will not be remunerated for US traders, and US accounts will only be remunerated for US traders.

Key Compliance Requirements:

1. Disclose Your URLs:
   • Promote eToro only on websites and channels you have disclosed to eToro. If you wish to use a new channel or site, send it to your Affiliate Manager for approval. We must know how and where eToro is being promoted.
2. Accuracy and Non-Misleading Information:
   • Ensure all information is accurate, balanced, and up-to-date. Mention the risks associated with investing. Avoid making investing sound easy, making false promises, or using misleading statements. Do not use images or emojis suggesting wealth or upward trends (e.g., money stacks, expensive cars, rockets). Do not use eToro in your domain name or state that you represent or work for eToro.
3. No Investment Advice:
   • Do not include eToro in content offering investment advice.
4. Avoid Creating a Sense of Urgency:
   • Do not create a sense of urgency to buy certain instruments.
5. Confidentiality and Anti-Scamming:
   • Do not disclose confidential information or assist traders in scamming eToro. Do not guide traders on how to answer KYC questions or incentivize them to trade on the platform.
     

Risk Warnings:  Always ensure to add the correct risk warning for the promoted assets and the country you are targeting, in a readable size. For social media, use the “Generic” risk warning. In case your content is only about crypto, use the crypto risk warning instead. The risk warning must be placed close to every link redirecting to eToro and in every post about eToro. In video content, the warning should be visible on-screen for 10 seconds at the end of videos about eToro and also appear in the video descriptions, next to the eToro link. On platforms like TikTok and Instagram, you may use the short version of the “Stocks and ETFs” risk warning due to character limitations.

Disclosure: For social media, ensure your material is clearly identifiable as an ad. This can be as simple as including a statement like “#advert”.

Periodic Content Review and Compliance: eToro will periodically review your promotional content to ensure ongoing compliance with its internal policies and applicable regulatory framework. You are required to cooperate fully with any compliance review and to   implement requested changes promptly. Non-compliance with eToro’s guidelines can result in the termination of your account/relationship with us.
